Hi, I have a weird issue with a 2007 Toyota Landcruiser D4D (3.0 diesel) that I'm hoping someone can help with. It starts and runs fine until I reach a roundabout, when going around the roundabout it starts to stutter and continues to run badly from this point. To fix this I need to prime the fuel filter with the hand pump on top of the filter.

I'm guessing that this is air being sucked in somewhere. The filter head (what the filter screws on to) was replaced in case this was the cause and the fuel lines from front to back look in really good condition. Any suggestions/help much appreciated! ??

Thanks
Paul

If it only does it when cornering, the first thing that springs to my mind is something related to the pick up for the fuel pump inside the tank.

Does it still do it with a full tank of fuel?

A quick follow up to this to help anyone with this issue in future. The car didn't misbehave when the tank was full, so installed a full new fuel pickup in the tank, cost circa £270 from Toyota, car now perfect.

Yeah, I only guessed the diagnosis as I had had the same thing happen on a Sierra XR4I many years ago, and it it seemed very familiar!
