Not revving out
Discussion
Hi all
Went out for a blast at the weekend and cars running nice apart from doesn’t want to rev over about 4.5 k . No missing at all and foots buried in the carpet although it don’t want to tick over sometimes when I restart after it’s hot but levels out fine after fettling the throttle . Just wondered if the cable perhaps needs adjustment .
Cheers

When I had the car I had a few running issues so changed leads ,plugs cts ,ignition module cap, rotor plus lubed dizzy and replaced breathers. Cured most things but still had misfire which turned to be new crap rotor arm so replaced with old red one and all is now good apart from just can’t get it to rev out . Rotor had rivet in it by the way avoid them if you can . I tried bp6 and bp7 plugs now running bp7 and have put old leads back on has were good quality and I replaced coil with Powerspark viper still have old Bosch one. Rotor arm pulled off spindle quite easy when I checked the other day .

A few years ago I had mis-fire issues on the 350i. I bought new coil, HT leads and dissy from your new coil supplier. In less than 7 weeks all three new items failed, so just because something is new doesn't mean it's working correctly.
All issues I've had with my Wedges engine wise have turned out to be electrical issues. Touch wood so far I've not had any issues with the actual EFi system. Most of mine have been ignition amp/HT leads and coil, but also a few earth issues and knackered old wiring feeding between the coil and dissy.
