Been a massive fan for years, cannot believe it is 9 years since 3 was released (if you have an Xbox and love adventure games but never played this, you've missed out but I think its free on gamepass)
It appears Lionhead are no more
but a new studio is reported to be working on Fable 4 but the weird news is it appears this is a title destined for the next gen Xbox which seems at odds to leave the current platform without.
Spurred on by this I started playing 3 again, forgot just how good this game is. Previously I tried to play the bad guy but my conscience always won over so this time I'm playing the princess (some irony there if Cupcake reads this) as I find it easier to play the b
h.
Anyone else looking forward to 4's release or recently gone back to play 3?

Still have Fabel 1,2 and 3 on discs, excellent games and many hours lost to it.
Wasn't there supposed to be a multiplayer version of Fabel? I heard about it years ago, but it wasn't something i would enjoy, so didn't look into it anymore.
A fourth, single player game, would be interesting though.
Not sure where they would go with it, given what has already been covered in the previous three games.

It was on games radar which is one of the more reliable ones - https://www.gamesradar.com/uk/fable-4-release-date...
There was a on-line version that worked if you logged into the Fable3 then went to the map room and behind it there was a glowing orb you could stand in and join online but when Lion Head closed so did that project
I'm going to play 2 after this, its a bit darker in the story but I just loved kicking chickens too much!

I've just finished a playthrough of the HD remaster of Fable and was contemplating a replay of Fable 2. It's a shame they never really hit they're full potential, they were good fun as a more casual take on the fantasy action rpg genre.
I think the series is dead now thought isn't it. That live service game they tried to launch with the xbone killed it.

Fable 2 was the highlight for me, it was still flawed but a lot of fun and felt like there was a lot more to do than in the original. Hopefully they can banish the memory of Fable 3, which had one of the worst menus and stupidest stories I've ever seen. So the kingdom is about to be invaded by an unspeakable darkness intent on killing every last person, but if you raise taxes and build factories to prepare, it makes you the baddie.
It's an odd mechanism but teaches a great lesson. What do you do for the greater good?
Even now I find myself being charitable again so this element pushes me out of a comfort zone. Perhaps this time I will kill Logan and not raise taxes will be interesting to see what the darkness does

It's a good idea, problem was being killed by a terrifying evil or raising taxes so you can build defences isn't much of a moral choice. I remember the final battle came out of nowhere as well, it said you had about 70 days to prepare, you'd go to sleep and suddenly the invasion started. It also had that hand holding mechanic which was cute when it was your childhood sweetheart, but a bit odd when it was one of your soldiers.Even now I find myself being charitable again so this element pushes me out of a comfort zone. Voice cast was fantastic though, and the world looked great, so I'm still excited for the next entry.
