Northern Meet - Up North We Do It Proper Larrrrrrk

Hi Folks.
So - anyone interested in a Northern meet?
Mark and I have just tested the water in Rotherham. Not so much of a meet - but more of a 'cruise - nite' if you will. We rendezvoused in a garden centre carpark in Thryberg. Impressing the local birds (mainly sparrows, magpies & songthrushes) with some 1.5" bore tailpipe blipping & marks neons (foglight over the diff)we ambled into Rothers to check out the local scene.
A nosebag at Macdonalds was followed by some carpark antics at the local ASDA. The Jago's sure showed them Saxo boys a thing or two, and after parking close to the main entrance (left the mother & babies spaces clear - no need to attract the rozzers) off we went for that cruise nite speciality the trolley dash - well Wendy had sent me out with a shopping list and it was a good opportunity to earn some brownie points. A fine selection of provisions were on offer at the store and I can heartily recommend the cheese counter.
All in all it was a bash to remember - and may well become a regular meet - maybe on the last friday of the month, after 7pm when all the 'reduced' tickets go on - you canna beat a bargain.

Ian had to collect some parts he bought off Ebay , turned out to be barely 20 minutes from me so I arranged to meet him for a hour or so , any excuse for a trip out in the Geep!
Parts duly collected we went for a Macy Dee's next to Asda in Rotherham ,Ian couldnt resist a quick trip round the aisles.
Must admit Ian's version sounds much more glamourous , next time we will have to sample that cheap pint at my local.....

Warm beer , they wouldnt dare in our local club , cost too much to refurbish the place afterwards , bad enough with all the whippet , ferret and pidgeon droppings and the pile of flat caps you trip over at the door....!
Reminds me of the time we went banger racing at Plough Lane Stadium , Wimbledon one of the lads got a round in then stared at his pint and bellowed "anyone know if its safe to drink the water round here" , needless to say we only had the one very quick pint!
