A couple of questions were very odd - the trams I have no idea about, but what about the one about enironmental impact of cars???

WTF has that got to do with whether you are safe on the road or not?

Toucan Crossing (Two Can Crossing):
Operates in exactly the same way as the Puffin Crossing except that it is (usually) wider and is shared by both cyclists and pedestrians.

Absolutely agree. Questions like that have nothing to do with the Highway Code or Driving Standards and have no place in any "driving" or "theory of driving" test.

It really lets you know who is in charge - idiots.

I have no problem with debating the environmental impact of all sorts of things - including cars and traffic. But through the correct medium FFS.

I got 34, but agree that a couple of the questions were questionable! I also know I am due an IAM re-test or similar......

Can I scrounge a Roadcraft off somebody or is it cheap somewhere - I think I've still got the 1936 version OK well the early '80s one anyway!!!!

I think the stopping distance question got me (I know how much to leave and don't need to memorise 1970s figures) as did the tram questions.

I suppose they are valid peripheral motoring questions but as you said, nothing to do with being safe to drive.

In addition, some of the answers are simply arbitrary, such as that it braking distance increases tenfold on ice. On the flat, it is likely to be less than this. On an infinite downhill stretch with ice all the way and no obstacles, the braking distance would be infinite!
