Hi, looking for advice, picked up my 987, 2010, 2.9 on Tuesday 26 feb from the dealer. Drove home which is 20 miles. Parked up & got into it yesterday & engine light flashes & words pop up “reduced engine power”. I drove it maybe 2 miles- did some errands & when getting into drive home there was no more warning. None today either. Is this something I should be concerned about. Any thoughts please.
As an aside, coming from 4, 911’s. WOW, what a car the Boxster is, I am massively impressed
I am loving it

A more sensible answer maybe, If you had just bought it then I would take it back and get them to take a quick look at it.

You would imagine that if the warning was no longer present all should be ok, but I don’t think they are known for throwing random warnings unless the battery is a bit dodgy. It seems this can cause odd electrical gremlins.

Boxster really are great aren’t they, every bit as good or even a little better than 911s.

Have you bought it from OPC or random dealer? Some dealers, tend to reset ECU warning, before selling cars so I would be more careful about the check engine light. I think you could just check with OPC (they were charging around 150 GBP), to see what is the issue? with the proper diagnose , you can just go back to the original dealer and ask what needs to be done since it's a fairly new purchase.
