Whilst looking for the above Mystery Car, internet searches keep turning up other rare (or unidentified) vehicles.

So this is a place to post any interesting cars found in and around Oxford Street, Vere Street, Regent Street, Pall Mall, Waterloo Place etc, in London during the 1960s and early 1970s, whilst we look for sightings of the mystery car above...........

EDITED TO AVOID CONFUSION -
Not to identify the blue car in the picture - for other oddities discovered whilst looking for the blue car to avoid going off topic in the main thread.........

Apologies for any confusion............

4 years too late.

Whilst some of the original pics are gone, it was about this car in particular.

Have you read that thread lately and noted the names of recent contributors?

Sort of noted the picture and remember the thread, whats the point of going through it all again... research is all there.

He's not suggesting that though, he's suggesting a thread to showcase some of the other oddities we've found while looking for 'the one'. (At least that's how I read it.)

Yes, it's for other 'mystery' cars spotted in the same area at the same time. It seems a good idea - a place to post up the various oddities and unknowns spotted whilst researching for the other thread for a start. I'm sure there are a quite a few.

SCREENSHOTS

Spot something interesting, and the image won't save as an image? Take a screen shot..........

Press 'Windows' button (bottom left, between Ctrl & Alt) at the same time as
'Print Screen' (top row, next to F12)

The image will be stored in a folder called 'Screenshots' in the 'Pictures' folder of your hard drive (using Microsoft Windows).

Here's a few oddities I've come across..........

Not sure what this out-of-focus gold blob (above) is.........

Going by the wheels (below), some sort of Ford special

Looks familiar, but I can't place it.....

What's the metallic blue soft-top behind the barriers?

Click to embiggenate........

c1965 Corvair Spyder on the left (below)

c1972 Buick Riviera turning left

FIAT 1500 and a rare 2300S

1965 or '66 Corvette

Foreign-registered LHD Karmann-Ghia

Alfa Romeo Giulietta/Giulia Sprint Speciale

Alfa Romeo Giulietta/Giulia Sprint Speciale

How's this for contrast? A Tippen Delta invalid carriage in front of a '68 Thunderbird.

Black Marcos emerging from a side road

Below, a Powerdrive - as identified by nicanary

WHAT IS THIS???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks2SP4czKP4

Is it even a car? Could it be a streamlined 'bike? Is that a small stabilizing fin on the roof, like a Tatra?

It doesn't seem to be a trailer as there's nothing in the film that could be towing it.

It looks like one of those strange cars designed by famous architects like the Dymaxion or something by Norman Bell Geddes....

Is the out-of-focus gold car an Auto Union 1000SP ?

The rear fins are remarkably similar, especially the way that they are angled up at the rear, and the low build seems right too.

But the gold car seems to have rear and side windows more like a Lamborghini 350 GT, and no filler cap.

Were there any after market hardtops made for the Auto Union?

On the gold car, I think the tail lights seem to be wide and rectangular, below the boot lid.

I wonder whether it could be a coachbuilt, updated version?

Fissore built some that looked like this........

Are there any other versions of the 1000SP that might fit?

The red sports car in Regent Street looks like it has a Riley radiator.

Probably a 'special' based on a pre-war saloon chassis.
