Having fun under the bonnet

The nice man brought me home on a flat bed last week, the oil gauge having dropped to zero 
, decided i could do the fix myself, i got out the bible and the haynes manuals.
Its been a while since i got my hands grubby, so it wasnt a simple case of opening the bonnet, i had to find the tool box and spanners first, ah, the car sits lower than the trolley jack at its lowest point.
Any way, having found the oil pressure gauge sender unit the connection was tight, so tried the gauge end, much huffing and scartch hands later, getting at the back of the oil pressure gauge is easier said than done especially as i dont have three elbows and fingers with five knuckles, time for a coffee break.
Refreshed with caffeine went back over old ground connection to sender unit is still tight, but the wire from the connection is actually broken,
result!!
Remade the connection, and remade the earth connections to the chassis from the engine block and wiring loom as well for good measure, also looked at realigning the bonnet, fixing the interior light, a oil change and cleaning the seats and roof panels.
Had a smashing time, yes i know i was lucky getting the gauge to work again so easily, but would recommend getting under the bonnet and not to just check the fluid levels to any one, its most rewarding.
