2016 C63 Premium

4 heavily curbed alloys

Dented bonnet and bumper, merc badge missing

2 center caps missing

Mis matched tyres and 2 bold (guess which ones)

Not sure of mileage

Got offered to buy it off a lady I know, she knows i admire the car and let me drive it once, it’s in black with the optional 20 inch alloys which is a 2500 pound option I believe, black with black leather.

Offered to sell it to me, let’s say it’s down to the PCP payments and cost of running the car.

I asked her how much and she said ‘around 40’ which is ridiculous given the state it’s in, I wouldn’t pay more than 25 for it and any dealer would offer her the same, maybe less. I’m not sure what the mileage is though but I don’t think it’s a lot as I see her driving an X5 quite a lot.

If my theory is right about her not being able to afford the car anymore and wants to sell it for that reason, if I manage to convince her how much it’s worth, calculate the damage and show her other examples on AT, would it be possible to just take over the PCP payments until the terms one and pay the final payment given she doesn’t owe more than 25-28 on it?

I was at peace with my car but after seeing her bomb it off and hearing that V8, I’ve found myself scouring the classifieds and looking at other V8 cars hehe

It's not her car to sell - it belongs to the finance company. In theory you could make the payments and get insured to drive it, but not sure how an insurance company would view that.

Just buy it and PCP it yourself. Much safer that way

Sounds like the all flash & no cash tarts I see on the road every day.

If she’s asking 40k then that’s probably what it’s costing to offload it. Good luck convincing her it’s only worth 25k and she has to make up the shortfall.

Exactly this. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, sounds like nothing but a headache, leave her to it and find another car.
