Looking at a couple of cars, one is on a 17 plate with 1400 miles on it, the other is an 18 plate, six months newer with 6000 miles on the clock and £300 cheaper. Both same car, colour and trim.

Which do you advise is Best Buy?

Thanks

Either... thats a neglible difference in age, mileage and price.

As said, mileage is negligible. £300 less for a 'year' newer though - the 18 plate sound like a better buy!

The extra warranty is a consideration

It would also depend on what options are on each. If the same, I would go for the 18 plate.
HOWEVER, who sells after a year? Was this an ex-demonstrator?

It depends how many miles will you be doing per year?

Thanks everyone. I can’t help but lean towards the 18 plate but my other half thinks mileage. I know the low mileage one was a motorbility car.

6k miles on a year old car is very little..... The national average is 12k?

I'd get the newer one because it's newer and cheaper.

Who cares about 1400 miles v 6000 miles. I would buy the 18 plate as you'll get more money for an 18 plate with 46000 miles than a 17 plate with 41400 miles in four years (assuming you keep the car for four years and do 10k a year)...and its cheaper

A car with 6000 miles on it is basically brand new

Disappointed - thought this was going to be 15 year old Astra with 40k or 2 year old Astra with 235k. For the same money. Now that would be tricky.
