Not to mention that there's tons and tons of smut on supposedly ordinary or "family friendly" sites such as flickr, youtube, twitter,, reddit and tumblr (still, despite their supposed December ban). And all those sites know full well, the advertising on those pages is part of their business model.
Thus unless whatever the government is going to use to enact their porn block inspects right down to every image URL (like some of the expensive corporate filters do) rather than just being a block on the whole of a particular domain name, it will be completely pointless anyway.

why would anyone put porn on any of those websites ? surely anyone looking for porn just heads to porn hub, you porn etc ?Thus unless whatever the government is going to use to enact their porn block inspects right down to every image URL (like some of the expensive corporate filters do) rather than just being a block on the whole of a particular domain name, it will be completely pointless anyway.

I only heard of tumblr after the ban. Apparently it was good for niche porn. Easy to search blogs that specialised and was very popular.Reddit has had porn in it for ages in load of subreddits I don’t like the format of that forum but I think it stated as gonewild or something then like tumblr lots of sub Reddit’s that specialised you know nuns or whatever.

I don't know, laziness? because they're free? because they don't stand out in logs or dns caches? sorry to say though, you're naive if you think the porn is all only on pornhub etc.
bloody hell, reading the replies i am naive, need to up my game the next time the missus has a headache
i can see this ending badly. 90% of adults registering will use the same username and password that they use on every other site. They will land on a random porn site that says please log in to AgeID to few some bouncy boobs. The site will not actually be registered with AgeID and they will harvest lots of usernames and passwords.
throw in the fact people would enter their card details if it asked you to confirm your card.
Just my thoughts.

How or where do I find Pron on Youtube? Thus unless whatever the government is going to use to enact their porn block inspects right down to every image URL (like some of the expensive corporate filters do) rather than just being a block on the whole of a particular domain name, it will be completely pointless anyway.
There's a billion ways to get around it, most of them a piece of piss. Typical government not having a clue about how s
t works in the real world, not to mention putting the whole AgeID system into Mindgeek's hands - I bet they're over the moon with that little coup.
I also concur with the comment that fake 'AgeID' logins will be used to obtain details from the naive - it will be a disaster.
