Marking out a business car park
Discussion
We have an irregular shaped car park and plenty of visitors in and out of our shop.
Some of these visitors are, shall we say, are less than adept at parking, and can leave cars in ways that you couldn't imagine.
If we mark out parking spaces to indicate how and where to park, are we opening ourselves up some sort of liability following damage?
There are signs up saying parking at customers own risk.
H & S wonks do your worst !

It can affect your Rate bill. At the moment you can say there for example is room for say 5 cars, but if you mark out say 7 then your rates bill might increase because the plot is more valuable. Different councils and different situations of course apply, get advice from a surveyor who knows your council's policy on parking spaces.

No you're not, I design car parks. Only thing you need to allow for is DDA spaces and perhaps larger spaces, depending how large the space is and the business type. You need to have a butchers at building regs doc m
How big is it?
Sorry to hijack the thread but I was thinking about this today as my warehouse is going through planning to change to retail warehouse. How big is it?

I have 7 spaces, will the planner force me to change 2 of them to disabled?
