Grounding on speed humps

Anyone looked into ways to prevent the exhaust taking damage from speed humps?

Looking under the car both the exhaust and sump project below the chassis and taking our youngest to school means going over 3 speed bumps, one of which touches the exhaust. Through the gear stick I felt movement when it touches so must be a not insignificant force being passed through the exhaust when it happens. This is going to limit my use of the Griff unless I find a way round it or accept the exhaust may take damage.

P.S. A thought occurred when looking under the car: why not fit some sort of disposable/consumable rub strip to the chassis rails that protrude just slightly more than the sump and exhaust to prevent damage to anything essential? Anyone ever done anything like this?

I've had exactly the same problem. When I checked the ride height my new springs must have settled and the car was riding 20mm too low. If your ride height is incorrect and your dampers haven't got adjustable spring platforms then I guess you will need new springs.
Beware of your sump drain plug grinding against the road, there have been instances of this actually undoing it. Some people fit a round socket headed plug to prevent this from happening.

If the car is at the correct level and driven sensibly over the humps, it will not ground out.

If you have adjustable spring platforms, this is easily corrected.

If you have the original units then you are well due for a new set!.

Exact same problem here, took it to my TVR place and they are raising the car a bit, it has adjustable dampers. They commented that it was sitting a bit too low anyway, you may want to investigate this also.
