So how far removed do you think that PH is from ‘The Real World’?

Inspired by some comments on Bruciebabe’s diving thread I wonder what the general opinion is.

For me PH is the only site where I join in, in fact I don’t even tend to look at Forums on other sites. One of the reasons is that I feel I have found a ‘home’ in the sense that, amongst other things, I love cars, I love a good debate with informed (and in some cases misguided) individuals, am amused by the odd slanging match, knowing that it’s never likely to turn into a real punch-up, like to learn, impart advice/help when I can, and can indulge some of my more ‘childish’ thoughts!

I think that this mix, together with the more than likely chance that I will knowingly meet up with people on this site in ‘The Real World’, means that I am ‘myself’ on this site. Sometimes a little more abrupt and tactless but I’m no JD for sure.

So are you ‘for real’ or are you really the metaphorical 42 stone welder from Barnsley?

When start being someone you arent then when you come to meet people they feel cheated.

I've got some great mates through PH, people I truly respect and I wouldnt have met them if it hadnt been for a portal for the like minded.

The ones that fabricate information are the true losers in all of this.

Helen, erm, I mean Matt...

Yes there is a feeling you can be yourself, so in that sense PH's is more real than the 'real' world.

I think we would rather you saved that for the 'other sites' you visit...

(See what I mean about the childish bit.)

I consiously relise that I am being more myslef on here than I am on some of the other sites I used to frequent.

Not sure if it's just me getting older and happier with who I am, or the spirit of the place though.

I think sometimes people on here can hide behind the keyboard a little too much. And also be far more open about certain topics than they would in real world circumstances.

I reckon I'm pretty much the same on here as I am in real life. Now, back to that plinky plonky piano....
