I've just heard the news - it's official. Plod can speed (excessively) and get away with it - we can't.

Apparently, his defence for doing 150+ on M54 and 80+ in a 30 limit was "just honing my driving skills m'lud". "Bravo", replied m'lud, "and as your colleagues have produced no evidence that you were driving dangerously, case dismissed".

What this says about British Law, Justice and Policing one can only speculate. Anyway, I'm just off to hone my driving skills - I believe T350 tops out at about 185, but this is not dangerous on a public highway - QED!

Apparently he was praised for his bravery for driving at these speeds in the line of duty. Bravo my dear chap

The law specifically excludes the Police from speeding penalties incurred in the course of their duties. Get used to it.
