Interested in whether there is some price comparison software I can buy / subscribe to that will help me monitor product pricing across a number of different retailers.

Essentially something that will scrape the price of a product off their site / various selling third party channels (like amazon) and collate them into a table or something similar.

Does something like this exist that can automate the process? If so whats consider the go to solution?

Thanks

Pretty sure there is a website that does exactly this.

The name of it escapes me but it's regularly mentioned on PH especially in the Black Friday type threads where members have pointed out alot of the deals aren't actually deals based on historical tracking of their price.

Have a quick scan through some of those threads and see if you can see it. Usually in the Lounge and the computers and gadgets sub forums.

Camelcamelcamel is an Amazon price tracker. Idealo may also be of use. No doubt there are others.

I'm not aware there's anything available off the shelf. I wrote mine myself (link in my profile), but get my price data via API or data feed files provided by the retailers. If you need to scrape data from websites, you'll need to write a custom script for each website.
