996tt Buying Advise
Discussion
I like Speed yellow, however its resale time you have to think about - I know, sensible hat on.
I have seen used 996TT prices hit by up to £5k or more simply through "unusual" colours, including yellow. It will just limit your buying audience somewhat when you come to sell it, which means you will either sell it for less than a more popular coloured one, or it will take a lot longer to sell until the "right" buyer comes along - ie someone who doesn't care that its yellow.
Having said that, I had a 996 C2 in Vasuvious with Savannah leather, a very uncommon combination. All the dealers said it would not sell unless I reduced the price (was selling it private)
Sold it a week later for full asking price to a chap who loved the colour combination & wanted something different to black or silver.

Early tt's need to have the sat nav for resale through a dealer. Only major change is that 04 model year cars have long life service. 2years or 12K.
Oh and some of the 04 model cars come with a complimentary front diff rattle in 5th and 6th at around 1-2k rpm.(like mine)
When you come to sell the car the dealer will tell you yellows a no no and they have too many silver, so dont worry too much, just steer clear of pink.

I've started looking and the one that caught my eye is in speed yellow. Am I mad? Should I stick with my second (safe) choice in artic silver?
What options are a "must have"?
Did Porsche make any changes to the 996tt. If so, what changes were made and when?
Thanks for the help guys. A lot more positive reaction to yellow than I was expecting. How about my other questions ...and when did Porsche introduce Satnav as standard and when did they upgrade from PSM to PSM2?
