Hi all

Im looking at insignia estates, used, 2014 on, upto £10k budget.

I thought that the vx-line was the top spec, and looking on autotrader its certainly the best looking (seems to have better bodykit) and internally/externally has all the toys. BUT none of the ones ive seen have leather seats its some sort of suede cloth mix.

However the elite model has leather seats, but less other toys.

WTF is going on? does anyone know the spec order of this car please? The vx line seems perfect but I want leather/alcantara seats.

Elite spec is luxury for old people.
Vx line is for people who want a body kit.
Vx line was available with leather but as most people buy from stock and I assume it wasn’t a cheap option most people didn’t pick it

It seems really silly. The SRi model is supposed to be the sports model but no bodykit!?!

Welcome to the Vauxhall Range. We dont do many Insignias anymore but from memory it is also worth checking for parking sensors, sat nav and Bluetooth as the trim lines vary so much.

Here is an example. Bi turbo SRI vx line top of the range yet looks like cloth seats? Perhaps these seats are better than leather can anyone confirm?

Elite Nav is the top spec & you should be looking for the 170bhp version:

You can get the Elites with bigger alloys but you have to hunt them out:

VX line SRI will mainly be cloth interior because that's what the SRI comes with.

Well it’s always been like that. The mk5 Astra SRI looked like a normal Astra but with 17” alloys. You had to spec the X-pack to get the body kit and nice wheels. The vx line trim is essentially the same idea. The SRI is a mid-range model but with the vx-line trim it makes it looks nicer

If elite nav is the top spec why doesnt it come with the bodykit? I dont get it. Estates look so much better with a subtle bodykit fitted.

And those alloys are disgusting.

Any insignia estate looks disgusting, especially with the tailgate open.
WTF are those stupid extra lights all about inside the opening??
Stupid design, lights belong on the outside of a car.(on the older model??? Unsure that the facelift model still has them?)

Bodykit was an optional extra on all models you could buy a VX Line Elite but it seems most didn't bother, look at the spec & you can see it's the top of the range.

If you want to add the bodykit you can, or just buy the lower spec SRI with the bodykit.

I believe that there is legislation that states the rear lights need to be visible when the boot is open, and the placement of the lights on the boot doesn't meet that. Hence the in boot ones. And I know that Vauxhall bashing is trendy on here, but it's a great looking estate in it's own right, if it had a German badge on it people would swoon over it.

Ah zx10, the last one on your list has the bodykit (looks so much better) but those alooys really are ugly, and it doesnt have the big screen in the instrument cluster, and its not the 170 version.

This. Vauxhall's get a bad rap on here, but I like them.

It's the because it's a 2014 model, you could always buy the front bib spoiler:

Or just lowering them makes the biggest difference:

I dont want to get into modifying it, makes insurance a hassle then. Just want nicest possible factory spec.

Then you want the Elite Nav, and if you dislike the standard alloys find some VXR line alloys on the bay.

Well it's an Elite Nav & forget about the front splitter, also most insurance companies won't worry about the addition of a front spoiler.

Some excellent value cavernous cars there. I don’t understand why they come in for so much stick. Those 170bhp models must be able to shift quite adequately.

From those selections, a pretty newish car for £9500 that will carry as much as most things, get reasonable - good mpg fir their size and are cheap to service. Look good too, imoa. Enjoy.

Hi

You would think so. The problem is they're bolted to a gearbox with incredibly tall gearing which stunts the performance.
