Advice on buying a car from abroad

Hello all

I have seen a vw van that I'm interested in that is for sale in Serbia. It is a USA import which has an expired florida registration.

Bearing in mind the van has no other documentation, how risky is it to buy it and import it into the UK? Am I wide open to be scammed? And if I decide to buy it what process should I follow when dealing with the vendor and importation?

Any advice from those who have experience of similar situations would be greatly appreciated.

I have never had a buying experience like you are contemplating for good reason.

No paperwork, US import, Serbia, expired registration...this has just walk away written all over it.

If it were me, I wouldn't even give it a second look. If the price is very low too, see the last comment.

As above, without any paperwork it at best will end up a Q plate if the DVLA let you register it. There will also be taxes etc to pay plus trying to get it shipped to the U.K.
