Car Model: Saab 9-3 Aero
Right so when I’m in first or second sometimes the car gets really jerky. Most noticeable when say you have accelerated up to say 3000rpm then I take my foot off the accerator and as the revs drop engine braking the car gets really jerky around 1500RPM.
Also if I easy the clutch up and roll on the tick over it gets jerky.

I have recently filled with Tesco 99 I usually use vpower would that cause it?

Car idles fine although was a bit rough on starting this morning.

My old car used to do it and I was it’s my driving by a mechanic

That's pretty common in my experience, but can be aggravated by backlash (play) in the transmission or anything that throws the engine out of tune. Unless you are determined to fix it and prepared to spend time and money chasing it, I suggest you get used to driving round it. For example, just feather the clutch slightly if it starts shunting.

To add to above ,most common in transverse engine cars.

My car does it, a right pain in heavy traffic but at 22yo ,I'm not spending a fortune chasing a possibly impossible fix.

Check the anti-rotation engine bracket at the top of the engine, its likely to be worn/damaged but will look ok until you remove it and look carefully at the rubber sections.

^ This. The engine may be moving backwards and forwards on it's mounts.
