Error: A3AA High Temp Mass Short to Ground?
Discussion
BMW 1 Series 116I Sport 54 Plate.
I have an amber triangle with ! coming up now and again for a about a month now at first it would just come and go after a second with no performance issue but from last Friday the engine is going into limp mode now when it shows and it is intermittent not happening all the time. It is happening once the car has been driven and is warmed up not from cold so I can do 10-15miles then it will start to happen let engine go cold and it will do it again so basically too and from work each day.
I took it in to garage as it needed an MOT and told them about it and they ran diagnostics and found an Air Mass Sensor issue so that was replaced MOT carried out and a full service with oil/air filters, oil changed, sparks changed. This did not fix the limp issue so took it back and diagnostics done and air mass error was not present but crankshaft sensor error so replaced this too, got it near home and the problem was still present so took it back the next day as gone 6pm diagnostics is now showing error A3AA high temp mass short to ground.
I am thinking that either a cheap air mass has been fitted that is not right for the car or the one fitted is faulty or could someone point me to that I should be looking at that is obvious?
I am tempted to fit another Air Mass Sensor?
Thanks for any help
