This message came up on my daily commute this morning. 50mph in 7th on a 2011 997 GTS pdk.
It dissapeared about 90 seconds later and has not returned.
Any thoughts?

Would have been far better if the warning had read: "Transmission emergency. Run!"

Not helpful I know. I can only apologise and wish you good luck...

That would have at least brought a smile! Thankfully, no gear changes or unusual revs. I was in manual mode at the time in 7th at 50mph on the ave spd check M23. I put it back into auto with no change to gear or unusual sounds....

Fingers crossed

Thanks, I had seen that as well. There are a couple of other threads that suggested new gearbox, but they were from earlier years so hopefully the simple fix has been found. As I run the car without a warranty due to bypass pipes and non standard battery I wanted some clarity that an expensive repair wasn’t a definite.
