Manthey GT3 RS
Discussion
There is a 6 GT3 RS with a manthey engine up for sale. Looks lovely but is considerably cheaper than any others around. I know the reason it's cheaper is probably down to the engine upgrade but apart from pissing off the purists is there anything else one should be aware of with this kind of car?

If it’s a blue one with no AC with K410 that’s advertised it had a very big off at the ring many years ago (owned by Kurgen formally of this parish) and was repaired (well) by Manthey under insurance so no corners cut with the K410 forming part of the repair.Hence the price.

This is a car to be driven and enjoyed. Fantastic car on road and even better on track - especially with the Manthey mods - which I massively enjoyed on my 996.1 K400 (which had also been damage repaired but was fantastic to drive - just impacted the value - but then I bought it cheaper)

Totally agree, if it’s cheap enough a good ‘driving’ car as they can be repaired effectively. Not sure 15% less than an original panel car is cheap enough though as the fact it’s been for sale since Adam was a lad would support. Was your 996 GT3 Adrian’s? I saw him modify the rear at Silverstone into the pit wall.

I know the car. A LOT of 6RS's found thier way into various walls because at the time most were actually driven as intended - god forbid. If they were well repaired I really wouldnt worry about it. The obsession with original panels and rev range perfection shows the market's total lack of understanding of what these cars are all about. If it's straight, well repaired and has strong leak test result I it's a good car.
