So, some little toe-rag stole the V12 badges from my CL600 the other week.

I have bought replacements, but there is the sticky-backed foam residue of the original badge still on the bodywork.

Any tips on how to get the stuff off, both the foam, and any sticky residue?

Thanks, Tom

Thanks, tried this, quite hard work, and didn't really loosen it that much, didn't want to overheat the paint.

I have used it in lots of places including car bodies, the only thing I have found that it attacks so far that CD cases. I use it to get rid of all those stick labels everywhere.

It would be sensible to try a little patch out of sight first.

Yep, WD-40 is good for this, and it's easy enough to clean off any oiliness it leaves behind itself.

White Spirit. Leave it soaking two minutes and wipe off.

Dirt cheap and won't damage paintwork....good tar remover too.
