BMW with fuel cap behind licence plate
Discussion
I'm hoping someone here can help me - or confirm in going mad.
My uncle had a BMW was pretty old - 5 series sized (I'd imagine) and I swear it had the fuel cap behind the licence plate. It was prob a south African import to Mauritius.
Told a mate about it today and went to Google for it but can't find anything.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about. Or have I finally lost it and made up this memory?? I remember being in a petrol station and spending ages trying to find it and finally someone found the cap behind the licence plate.
Would ask my uncle but he died about 8 yrs back

The earliest 5 series had the fuel filler next to the number plate.
