HELP; Power steering component fractured

Hi All

I am buying a Porsche 911 996 2002/52 but the car has failed the MOT on the following;

Power steering component fractured

has anyone had the same fail at MOT on there 966 and the cost of repair.

You're a bit vague on which component has failed.

Could be cheap ,unlikely ,could be thousands.

I am looking at the car on Monday, but I looked on the MOT check website and it failed on the following; Power steering component fractured,
so I have no more details, just wonder if any one has had this issue or maybe it is a common issue so someone may no the cost of repair.

No doubt someone on here (or on 911UK 996 forum) will be able to give you the contact details of the individual in Balsall Common who makes the replacement pipes.

I was going to point you at RPM my favourite Specialist but Slippy has already done so.

If it’s just the crimped end connection of the flexible PAS hose, the preventative fix is to put a jubilee clip over the crimped section. Obviously you can only do this if the connection is still sound and fluid tight. If it’s the hard line then you’ve got to drop the rack to replace and that gets expensive.
