The dreaded MIL light.

Hello all,
Out for a bit of a spin this afternoon. Everything as it should be, Had a bit of a high temp reading a few days ago so wanted to monitor it.
The temp was fine but the MIL light came on. I was in a bit of traffic, and just as i touched the throttle the light came on.
I turned off and restarted, but no joy. after another restart and about 20m with the light on. It turned off again. Now while it was on the revs idled at 1500prm. then all went back to normal.
Its in waranty, so which sensor do you chaps think is on the way out.

Right, I've pulled out my all-seeing balls, and its pointing straight ahead, throttle pots.

Get some Dreadnaught t-pots.... I think they're stocked at Joospeed....????

Just had my MIL Light on and it was only the Carbon Filter. Quick clean up at Central TVR and all back to norm.

No it did not stall, I turned it off to see if that would reset it.
Check that ball again will you.

Damn it, just yanked the balls out again and me reckons if you plug up a laptop, you'll know very quickly if theres a dodgy sensor or if there is something else causing dodgy readings.... but a laptop is greatly needed with the ecu software, which used to be available on eBay for 15 quids, but a mob formed on this very forum and forced him to shut the million dollar enterprise down.

Pop into a decent independant and get him to plug the laptop up and sort it out, probably an hours labour charge, and if a dodgy sensor is the cause, a few pennies more.

Mate i have all the various software a willing laptop..... all I'm missing now is a duff tuscan window encoder, I need the plug off it to make a laed up, hey maybe inside the magic crystal ball. only a thought, would gladly pay for it.

nick .. if you have the later rear lamps you have a suitable 3 pin connector on the stop/tail lamp. that's where i robbed mine from anyway
