Ferries from Portsmouth

Just tried to book up the tickets for Portsmouth to Le Havre/Cherbourg, can't get it down below £450 for the Wednesday night crossing and Monday afternoon return.

Anyone got a decent link or any suggestions? Have to do Portsmouth as a Devon, Bristol and London contingent are meeting up...

Never had to pay over £220 before, this would really upset the apple cart!

£450! I'm booked with Brittany Ferries, Pompey - Caen on the Tuesday night crossing, returning Sunday night - £232.

Mind you, I booked it in mid-March. Dunno whether that makes any difference?

Yeah, tried them and P&O, was hoping someone knew of a site for cheap deals.

No way are we going to pay that, Dover to Calais is crap though (

After the demise of the Newhaven-Dieppe service (on
which I had a booking) I booked a couple of weeks
ago on this route for the staggeringly large sum of
£427. This is out Wed AM back Mon AM. Talk about
profiteering.

Been throught the same thing myself this year, believe me the prices have been pretty high this year even tried before xmas .

Shssss don't tell every one though, I've just checked the St Malo crossing again £259 Weds overnight outbound and 10:45 back on the Monday , Brittany Ferries btw.

Our group is paying about £400 per car on Ports - Cherbourg for the SeaCat crossing (2.5hrs ) No way I could do a 4/6hr ferry crossing without copious amounts of beer to overcome the boredom..

I know what you mean, I have a cabin both legs so on the overnight outbound leg I can some beers followed by bed, bonus is the 0800 (ish) landing in France, which allows for a cruise and lunch before hitting the camp site . The return cabin will be used mainly for catching up on sleep .
