Be careful with the Northstar. When they're running right they're great but they have cylinder head gasket issues on the early ones. It's easy to strip the threads on the head bolt holes in the block and then it's an engine out job. I had an STS and it was a lovely car to drive but then the head gasket went. I sold it to a chap with full disclosure of this and I think he thought one of those "Headgasket cure in a bottle - guaranteed or your money back" was bound to work. I don't think it did...

te like the Cimarron and the Vauxhall Omega based thing (Catera?) and the big Cadillacs look like a lot of metal for the pound.
