One of these has just gone up for sale near me. I really like the look of it. Does anyone on here know anything about them. What to look for etc.

Huge front wheel drive yank barge with a Northstar V8.
Uses the underpinings relating back to the fwd Oldsmobile Toronado of the 1960's.

Definately not a drivers car wink

I bet they're a lovely old wafter for not a lot of $$$$. I like the Seville with the RWD Northstar in a £1200 kind of way. Avoid ste like the Cimarron and the Vauxhall Omega based thing (Catera?) and the big Cadillacs look like a lot of metal for the pound.

Be careful with the Northstar. When they're running right they're great but they have cylinder head gasket issues on the early ones. It's easy to strip the threads on the head bolt holes in the block and then it's an engine out job. I had an STS and it was a lovely car to drive but then the head gasket went. I sold it to a chap with full disclosure of this and I think he thought one of those "Headgasket cure in a bottle - guaranteed or your money back" was bound to work. I don't think it did...

It's like publicly admitting that you're old and past it! - The automotive equivalent of giving up your Nike Air Max trainers for fur lined tartan slippers! yikes

I do own a tvr tuscan S as well !

The idea was to put a few grand in the bank as well. This car now showing on ebay as no longer available, so presumably sold.

Next year will probably look to sell the tuscan for something a bit more 'grown up' like Jag xk or Merc cl.

In the meantime sold my wedge on Good Friday and yesterday bought a 1998 Merc 420cl with 201k on the clock !
