Heated Grips -

It's not the size - it's the awful pound shop control panel. Oxford stuff is just such tat.
Exactly this!
Chaps spend fortunes on tiny carbon trims, coloured chains, embroidered seats and then get the massive black control box, straight from an Upper School CDT project, just lashed to the bars wherever it will fit and always at some jaunty angle - ye gads I'd sooner just buy thicker gloves.

It's like you're reading my mind, man!

They really do look like something lashed up by a ten year old as a first project. And you're so right about the jaunty angle - they won't fit anywhere so it's out with the chromed bracketry which always goes rusty.
OP - I've used these before - super slick

I'd rather smear myself in excrement than put Oxford crap on my bike.

Just logged on to ask about heated grips myself.
New bike doesn't have them, what's the recommended brand these days?
OE if you can get them, although they're dear.New bike doesn't have them, what's the recommended brand these days?
Otherwise anything that doesn't look like it was made by a six year old out of bits of old Fisher Price toys.
Funnily enough I've been looking for some heated grips, I hate the separate control panels which look absolutely gash. Those Koso Apollo ones look great, and not too thick.
That said, I've got a weird throttle on the Monster which means I can't fit them without leaving a big plastic ring exposed, so I'm going for battery-powered heated gloves instead I think.

Did consider yamaha one's but the reviews say they're a bit weak.
I've used these on a couple of pervious bikes and thought they were really good. Would buy them again but current steed came factory fitted

They use your original grips so are pretty much invisible and just one tiny switch for two levels of heat. The only tough bit is to find a switched live feed on the bike to run them off otherwise you're gonna get a flat battery at some point.
They don't get super hot but I'm not a fan of that anyway (burning palms and cold knuckles) but they're more than good enough to take the chill off before the heated gloves come out.

Buy another throttle tube from your friendly Ducati dealer and trim the ring off then replace the throttle tube. That said, I've got a weird throttle on the Monster which means I can't fit them without leaving a big plastic ring exposed, so I'm going for battery-powered heated gloves instead I think.

Agreed, not the prettiest solution. but Oxford stuff works better than most OEM for an absolute fraction of the cost.
Then again, if it clashes with your handbag what can you do?

It's not what other people think it's what you, the owner, thinks. Who wants an ugly control panel sticking out at a weird angle off a bike you've bought because you like the look of it? Especially if there are alternatives that sit flush with the handlebars.
