Going to attempt an oil and filter change on a '98 4.2 Cerb, before the trek down to Le Mans.
Can anyone advise what oil filter to use, part number etc, or its off a XYZ.
Plus is is a fairly straight forward job. i.e. warm up oil, remove drain plug ( hope for no engine bits stuck to drain plug
), remove filter etc etc
Any advise appreciated

The filter is a Land Rover V8 one, the part number escapes me but any good motor factors will stock them. Try and get the one with a non-return valve fitted, this helps the start up oil pressure.
This is how I do mine.
I don’t run the car as running it would pump the oil from the sump. There are a couple of drain plugs in the sump as it is baffled, crack these open and drain the oil. Jack the car up and remove the NSF wheel, unless you have a pit or a ramp. This will give you better access to the filter. Undo and remove this, be prepared for a bit of a stuggle as it’s a pain. Half fill the new filter of oil and lube the seal with fresh oil, only half fill it otherwise you will loose most of it getting the filter back in. Replace the washers on the sump plugs and refit, not too tight, they don’t need to be done up ultra tight as this will cause problems when you come to do it again.
Refill to the MAX mark and start the engine, remember that you have drained all the oil so the oil pressure will take a while to come up, as the pump is not primed. Ideally it would be good to turn the engine on the starter motor until pressure was there but I do not thing that is possible unless you have a direct feed to the starter.
Once pressure is there and the engine has been running for a while, shut it down and re-check the level.
I do this every 6-8 weeks!
