Am I about to be scammed
Discussion
In reference to the "What scam is coming my way" thread, I thought I would pose a similar question to something I am going through at the moment.
I have recently sold an item on eBay, now as a rule I do not sell on eBay due to all the time wasters.
Sold a cheap surround speaker package, it went for not a lot of money, but I just wanted rid. A bidder bids at the last minute and contacts immediately, saying they will sort courier etc, as the box is huge! They pay me the winning bid, and ask for collection address for the courier.
Once paid I notice the paypal is from an Italian email address, I then notice that they are registered in Italy via eBay, but have an English address, well part of an English address:
Mrs xxxxxx
______
______
Bristol
Non Bristol postcode
I reply to her, thanking for payment, and that her arranging courier is OK. She replies quickly. I then send her my work address for collection, and ask if I am being scammed, and hope the delivery address matches her partial UK address so I am protected via paypal.
Since that message over 24 hours ago i've heard nothing! And she was on the ball replying prior to me questioning her. She hasn't attempted to ask for her money back yet.
But what is the scam? Recall the paypal money once collected? get the item for free? But we are talking £40 here, and a bulky item for collection? I can't see that being the scam!
She also was registered on eBay in 2008, but only started using the account 6 months ago and has 100+ positive feedback!!!
