The joys of ebay.

Been registered with ebay for about 5 years,
Use it on and off as required to buy and sell.

Have about 40 odd transactions. 100% rating. Never any issues.

Sold 2 items this past few weeks,
First sale £70 and the second £40.

Ebay have held both payments for 21 days.
Very annoying and unfair in my opinion given the good record I have.

Had the icing on the cake today with an invoice from ebay for £11.

So they are content to hold my fund yet still want their slice of the action.

Looking to have their pie and eat it, like most big businesses in the modern world it seems.

Rant over.

Did they actually hold them 21 days? I had the same - 5 years away from the bay and sold a few £10 - £100 items. I'd get the odd message that fund would be held for 21 days, then suddenly they'd clear.

Funny thing was they all seemed to be payments from buyers with low (sub 10) feedback, yet other transactions would go straight through. EBay policing buyers to make sure funds are truly in EBay / Paypal?.

The first was released a bit quicker as I provided a postal tracking number. Second is still being held.
Both buyers have hundreds of transactions with 100% ratings.
They funds are held in escrow anyway, so they know the money is there.

I just think they are getting the arm in.
Can't expect it both ways in my opinion.

Absent an alternative platform, turns out they can biggrin

Got to be room in this market for a competitor.
