Stepper Motor Question
Discussion
So my Chim 500 has recently started stalling (or very near to) when warm when driving off from stationary.
The ignition system is very well maintained. Having recently cleaned the stepper motor & housing as part of the normal service regime, i know it isn't fouled so i thought i'd check its operation.
Question is if I unscrew the stepper motor from the housing & reconnect the electric socket, then turn on the ignition, shouldn't the stepper motor move across its length - or have i got this wrong? If it should then i fear the stepper isn't working or should it make a difference if the engine is warm or cold doing this procedure?
Failing that & considering the rest of the ignition system is practically new what else should i be looking for? The ignition amplifier is due a change shortly, could this be a contributing factor?
