Oh dear, there is an arrest warrant with my name on it
Discussion
Had a call, well a recorded message from the HMRC ( Yeah Right) telling me i owe them money and if i dont press '1' an warrant will be issued for my immediate arrest.
Well thats two i have against me now as i didn't bother with the last call they made. I really am tempted to press 1 the next time and tell them i am still waiting for them to call

Perhaps when you call back you'll reach the charming chap in the video accompanying this article.

I had one a couple of weeks back on my home phone telling me a warrant had already been issued and I should press 1 to speak to my case worker. Presumably, thought I, had there really been a warrant issued then the first I'd know about it would be plod calling in person rather than HMRC calling with a recorded message.Well thats two i have against me now as i didn't bother with the last call they made. Needless to say I am still on the run. You'll never take me alive copper!
I've had this call once a week, usually mondays. for the past 2 weeks. I've never picked up. i always google the phone number first, did this on monday. within an hour there was at least 20 or so comments about it being a fraud HMRC thing.
i generally dont pick up witheld or 0300 numbers.

For a bleeding heart liberal this is a tough gig
On the one hand I loath having my privacy invaded by scammers, on the other the call centre people are just the small fry at the end of the line who probably dont deserve being told that they sound nice and would they like to know that Ive just taken my clothes off - top tip, male callers seem to take his a lot less well than female ones....
Anyway, to save my conscience I now keep a whistle next to the charging point for house and mobiles and just give them what for when they call for a chat once or twice a month
Cheers
