Online socialising/discussion forums for the unemployed
Discussion
Hi Folks
I hope you're all well.
Can someone kindly recommend any good online socialising/discussion forums for the unemployed, which also help one another to keep motivated about finding a job (and that losing your job or being unemployed is not the end of the World)?
Thanks in advance.

You have ti just keep your head down OP, I have been out for a couple of months now.
Loads of time wasting from employers HR, agencies loads of things.
I think Brexit is a huge factor, people are simply not making decisions about staff because of it unless they have to, and you have end of MArch when hardly anyone gets take on in certain companies.
January can be an OK time to look, but February and March are awful.

There is a view that no one needs to be unemployed; current stats would seem to support this:
UK employment at highest since 1971 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47622415
The challenge is around: what are you willing to do; for how much; and where. It’s acknowledged that there will be additional challenges for some such as those less able through illness, injury or disease.
If anyone is genuinely feeling unemployable, addressing those three questions sensibly might be a good start.
If anyone wants to talk through this on here I’d be delighted to assist.
Had a frustrating response to an interview with a top motorsport supplier today.
I have had such difficulty getting into that industry even the supply chain field there, I think experience is more vital than in most engineering business, they don't care if you have worked in medical, aero, top end commercial, if you haven't directly worked for a team or in the business it is extremely difficult to break into. And forgive me for saying but I think it is also a very cliquey and exclusive club with very rare chances for anyone older that has worked outside that industry.
My question would be this, this job was for 4 vacancies, all the same job, it was largely wiring based, and I have some experience but would not be a hit the ground running type, would need some training. but then I surely that is to be expected. I ahve done some, but not to the level required, but obviously had the understanding to learn.
this was the reason given for non progression.
I am older, mid 40's and can't help feeling that so often I am the token "outside motorsport" applicant or "older person HR policy decides to interview, I have had it several times in recent years, got interviews, they went well,. obviously I would need training in some areas, but i never get the jobs.
Massively frustrating as I try and find work in a field that motivates me, rather than simply building stuff for the sake of it, generally speaking.
