Porsche Taycan
Discussion
I was in my OPC today, chatting to the Business Manager about various things. Subject of the Taycan came up which I’ve “expressed an interest” in....over a year ago I think. He said “as soon as the car is launched we’ll be on the phone looking for a deposit”’ AFAIK official Porsche GB policy is no deposits get taken until a car is officially launched. I was asked for a deposit for my GT3 when the car was launched and not before.
It’s going to be a very popular car. Oh and it’s the new volume model for Porsche...

I was wondering about holding their value, you have to assume it will be superb engineering and if it's limited to 40,000 worldwide has to hold the value somewhat !
In the first year 40,000 - how many model s get sold per year? Similar price point and performance stats?32k 911's sold per year - https://newsroom.porsche.com/fallback/en/company/p...

Cars in that size aren’t renowned for holding their money well tbh. I’ve also found that getting good business lease quotes on hybrid/electric cars is very expensive - I think that’s cos the market doesn’t yet know the resale values 3-5 years down the line and whether the public will want to own a 5 year old battery powered car.
I’m sure Porsche will do better than most but atm I’m happy to stand on the sidelines and watch the first deliveries before jumping in.
