What was your first classic?

Problem with us old duffers is that 1st car wasn't a classic then but is now.
In my youth I had several Mk1 Capris because they were cheap and I thought cool, never spent more than £200 on any of them. They were considered old bangers then.
My 1st "classic" was a project Sunbeam Alpine MkV.

As above, I had old cars out of necessity, kept them going over the years and have suddenly ended up with 'Classic Cars', a 1973 Mini was my first car, it was just an old £500 car but would now be considered a Classic, I do everything I can these days to make sure I don't have to use anything Classic as everyday transport ! 
Passed my test in '87, aged 17.
First car was a '83 VW Polo, first classic a '64 mini.
Completely rotten, but fast as anything with a tuned 13xx engine and twin SUs
Had a couple of other VW Polos, then briefly had a rotten Standard 10 to get the plate off it.
Sold the plate for near enough the same as my yearly salary at the time, so bought a Mk1 Campaign Golf GTI
Still own it, and actually dragged it out of storage a couple of weeks ago, so might try and get it back on the road this year.
Will try and dig out some old photos...
Had loads of other random classics over the years, and some of the cars bought and horded have turned in to classics a few years later

My first 'proper' car was a mk1 MR2, which when I bought it was considered a bit of a shed. After 7year ownership, I sold it, it was still considered to be a shed. But it is now considered a classic - and I still miss it.
My current 'classic' is a 1982 Air cooled VW T25. I also have a Smart Roadster which is insured as a classic - but I don't really consider it to be a classic at the moment. Time will tell.....

I'm old too so my early cars are classics, even if in some cases they were just bangers back in the day!
My 1st car was a MK2 Cortina, my 2nd was a Fiat 125, my 3rd was a Mexico Brown Rover P6B 3500S, my 4th was a MK2 Granada Ghia, my 5th was a MK2 Escort RS2000 and my 6th was a Capri 2.8 Injection - which would all be classics now!
But I've never actually owned a car that was a classic when I had it!
I'm hoping my current BMW E86 (Z4 Coupe) may be a future classic, but it doesn't matter if it isn't because it's the best car I've had so far.

Started current collection with an XJS & then decided to have a car made the year I was born (Austin Healey) then I thought I would have a 50’s car (MGTD) then as I had an MG I thought I should have the set so got an MGA, MGB, MGC & MGTF. Then I thought if I had an XJS why not get an E-type then acquired a Mk10 & Mk2. I then got into thinking of decades so got a 1920’s Humber, a 1930’s Rolls Royce & a 1940’s Allard to go with 1950’s MGTD and the 1960’s Healey’s (had to have a 2nd!) then the 1970’s E-type & 1980’s XJS, I then added a 90’s Saab Turbo & a naughties dailey, I was quite pleased with my habit & didn’t sell any but then got divorced & it all went a bit tits up! Oh well, time to start again!
