Car sitting in Stratford garage over 2 years...

Quick one here guys, couldn't find another place to post this...I've lived in the UK for 2 years now, and remember seeing this car parked in one of the main car parks in Stratford-Upon-Avon shortly after moving here. I've since been back there a few times, and noticed it each time...it hasn't moved in over 2 years.

First of all, being from the US I'm not familiar with make & model...can a wiser PH member tell me what year/make/model this is?

Second, is there any way to find out from the reg what the story is with it? It seems it's been abandoned there. I've heard of stories like this where someone leaves a car somewhere for storage, then passes away. Be interested to find out more about it's story and if the owner would be willing to part with it or if it's even in running condition.

Chances are it's being deliberately stored, the car park company would struggle not to shift it otherwise.

I believe it's a Citroen LT15, one of the first FWD cars.

It's a 1952 Citreon LT15 and is still showing as taxed

I was just about to comment with the make and model, but seen I have been beaten to it! I had a 1953 model as my wedding car last year and it was absolutely brilliant

If its 1952 isn't that tax exempt?

even if it is tax exempt, I think you still need to actually 'tax' it. I recall a recent case of a car where the tax rate was 0 - driver didn't bother to tax it and got a fine

Imported here in 1984, sold in 1993, sold again in 2016 to the current owner.

So sounds like someone recently bought it, probably doesn't have a garage of their own and just leaves it there. Shame it hasn't moved though. Hate seeing a classic not being used.

It’s got 25k on the clock and the MOT ran out in 2010 !

And the owner has had it since 2003, probably a reason for it being there. SORN too.

As Tom Jones tells us; it's not unusual. I bet 10% of us has a car in their garage that looks good-to-go, but hasn't moved for a year or two. Same thing really for flat-dwellers.

Assuming no rodent activity they are perfect long-term storage conditions - warm, dry, well aired and out of sunlight.

1. Towed by the council and crushed

2. Sold to a “modern classic” dealer who’ll wax lyrical about its long term ownership and careful storage before its loving recommissioning ( wash ) then advertising it for £20k rather than the £200 he paid for it

RHD with the bumper over riders means it's a Slough built car I think. And yes, the big boot means this is a post 1952 car.
