Assuming that you don't drive your bike a lot, how often would you change your tyres in your sportsbike just because of time decay?

I’d use them until they started to feel weird. The last bike I bought had 15 year old tyres on it. It wasn’t terrible but they did feel weird.

If it's kept out of the sun and not left in the same spot, 5 years or so for road use, depending on how they feel / usage

Put Pirelli super corsas on it and even wheeling it of the garage will wear them out before you have the age to worry about.

Can we slightly hijack this thread into - which ones do you replace them with, assuming you do a few road run-outs and a few not-overly-hectic track days and you want stickiness over long life all day long?

Are Metzeler Racetecs still any good? Is there much difference noticeable between the K1 and K2 if you're a distinctly average rider? (asking for an average-rider friend, obviously...)

I've got supercorsas on mine. I've got 2,500 miles out of them and although at the end of their life, they're still round. I've been very impressed with life and performance even in the wet!

SuperCorsas too, ridden in heavy rain on them a couple of years ago and they were ok, but they need changing now and I'm thinking Metzler M7RRs.
However, the S Corsas are the only tire I've used that doesn't feel like the front is going to tuck under !

So, I've just checked and my ducati 998 rosso corsas II are now 4 years old with c. 3k road miles. She is always under cover and most of the time indoors so would think that they would have some more life in them but was advised to change them, particularly the front one.
