We all have our favourites.. but which team do you literally not give even the mildest *ahem* about this year?

And.. why?

For me it's Renault, because they bang on about being serious, have a massive budget yet seem to be proud simply to fight around the top of midfield. Red bull seemed to do more with less when they joined the sport.

Obviously Williams have been hopeless to the extent that they're more in the way, than in the race. But at least, by being so hopeless, they remain a talking point. They may also break some records this year - albeit ones they won't want.

So, what's your dullest team?

Unless they let the drivers race then for me it's Ferrari.

Toro Rosso; the Minardi genes are now long gone and with the reintroduction of significant part sharing it is hard to see how they won't just be a mobile test rig for Red Bull + Honda and a finishing school for potential replacements should the senior drivers leave or get the axe from Marko.

Force India, or whatever they are now called. I can't even muster the enthusiasm to google them.

The name changes don't help! I like them though, they achieve so much at their budget level. That can only mean they're paying for much of that success with team passion alone.

Haas too, but not to the same extent.

I actually accept their given reason for saying not to race - there was no real chance of them climbing overall so what's the point in letting the driver's battle just to swap places?

But if they continue to perform below par and also curtail their drivers, I would quickly tire of that. Ferrari are interesting right now as they as they at least have the potential to bring a strong fight.

One driver has the potential bring a strong fight. They don't let the other driver fight for anything except second place so it's boring to watch knowing that they won't really race each other.

Take courage in the fact that the moment the facts support that theory, they will switch driver position. If leclerc is fastest, they will put him first. Ferrari are racers above all else on the end. The just won't support pointless battles that are all risk, no reward.

Renault are a good shout- I like them because they still have the underdog vibe, but like you say- they've been making grenading engines for years just like Honda and have been flattered by how good the Red Bulls are.

Alfa/Sauber and Torro Rosso take it for me though- wingman teams. Kvyat and Kimi provide the interest.

That's a very good way for viewing Renault vs Red Bull. Their engines were made to look good (minus explosions) by how good the general performance of Red Bull cars has been. So the two teams looked close overall. Then Red Bull switch to Honda, and it's fairly obvious they have a speed and reliability advantage now - the gap between the two teams is now so great I would say that Red Bull didn't win the fight, they simply elevated themselves above it.

Strong words after one race perhaps, but let's not forget it was a race where a Renault engine went bang again...

I might be crazy but I sense something about Alfa (sauber) this season. It's not just Kimi, I think they may be an underdog worth a slim bet for ending fifth or above.

As for Toro Rosso, I agree - but I also consider them so much of a B team they are practically an extension of Red Bull. They're interesting to me on the basis they WERE a test-bed for the success I expect Red Bull to have this year. OK, maybe not interesting, but worthy at least. they served a function to make the top end of the sport more interesting.

Racing Point always massively overperform based on budget/staffing levels so I like to see how they do. And with Danny Ric at Renault they are going to offer some excitement this season.

I'd go with Toro Rosso, even their livery has been designed to look almost like Red Bull, which kinda sums them up really.

Sauber. Managed to last years in the sport without anyone ever really noticing them.

I think the drivers are the most interesting things at some teams, I'm looking forward to the Hulk/Riccardo battle, Kvyaat's taking of Gasly was the most I've noticed them since Seb left.

The HAAS guys always look like they're bordering on greatness if they can only keep all the plates spinning, but I think being a Ferrari B team duls the shine.

Williams are getting pretty hard to like. I noticed this with my view to McLaren- surprise turned to sympathy turned to humour turned to disgust as they strode between catastrophies. Glad that they seem to be on the up finally and would be great if they beat Renault in the CC.

It's Torro Rosso. Of all the teams it's the one who's last podium if furthest in history.

Only a little over a decade ago.

It was also their first podium, as well as their last!

And Williams are now in their 7th season since winning a race.

As are McLaren.

Nobody but Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have won a race since Australia 2013.

Racing Point. Purely 'cause their name makes them sound like a business park in Slough.

Probably the most depressing start regarding the current state of F1. Reliability is such that with 3 largely dominant teams the chances of anyone else winning are the smallest in history. It's impossible to see a freak result coming any time soon, even a podium outside the top 6 is relatively unusual.
