My sons 390 currently wears 225/50 r15’s all round but they’re all in need of replacement, however there’s very little choice of tyre in this size - just wondered what everyone else with bigger engined wedges has fitted ???

I'd highly recommend the Uniroyal Rainsport 3

I don't think you can get the Rainsports in 225/50 size. I had to settle for Toyo T1R tyres for my 400SE.

That’s what we’re finding- it’s either Toyo t1r or having to drop to a lower width (205) to get a better choice
How do you get on with the Toyos????
The reviews for them on PistonHeads are very mixed ....

Toyo's on wedges are fine, just add a couple of psi to the TVR recommended figures over the original Bridgestones as the sidewalls are a bit softer.

I used to have Bridgestone S03s before the toyos and they had a much harder sidewall which affected the ride quality. The Toyos are much closer to the original Bridgestone S02s which had a softer sidewall than the S03s so fit the cars character better I think. Just my opinion of course.

I have been running T1Rs for years and find them quite good value, performance is great in the dry and adequate in the wet.

I shop around try and buy at around £75 a corner, sometimes the supply can dry up in the UK and prices stick around £120-150.

Uniroyal Rainsport 3. Work great on the T cars including some trackday fun.
