It drew a lot of confused looks!

This is just how I remember a lot of the Minis round our way in '70s, it's not a Cooper S but a Mk1 850 with Mk2 rear lights, a 1293 engine and half of the Speedwell / Cosmic / Paddy Hopkirk catalogues thrown at it...

That black Capri looks almost exactly like the one my farther had, a mk1 (barring those god awful minilites and the black interior, his had maroon vinyl). I've been following this via Practical classics facebook posts.

Some nice stuff there.

Love the green SM, the barn find Tigger and the Mexico Brown P6 with the Mango interior.

The Arizona Gold Capri 3.0S behind the black Mk2 Capri looked nice as well.

I went along today too and thought it was a very good show for the money. There was a lot to see and, for me at least, a greater variety of more "real world" cars than at the London show in February. The vast amount of Chinese-made reproduction memorabilia is getting a bit tiresome though.

All in all however a good day out.

Maybe but I'm pretty sure my farther's was a MKI (mind you I was in single figure age range when he was restoring it so a good few decades ago). He ended off getting rid after it was stolen (and recovered intact).

That's fine, I was just laughing at your statement that the car pictured was exactly like your dad's, except for the wheels, the interior and the fact that it was a different car
