Brave Pill TVR
Discussion
I don't know if anybody has read some of the comments on here, but.....how much 'internet bull pub talk'???
I felt like posting a response to some of the pub 'experts', but the realised why waste my time?!?! Lol
Ps.
I'm not being defensive about our cars, just amused by the general interweb!

Not entirely sure what you are asking , but the fact is
- TVRs are shoddily made on the whole - the wiring in my Griff is appaling. The location of the heating fan is hillarious (not!, when it goes wrong).
- Things fall off - door catches, mirrors droop etc
- They have no driver aids. ABS, TC, air bags.
However, as we all know, they are
- stunning to look at
- stunning to drive
- Great value for money in terms of performance and looks
- sound stunning.
When people make jokes about mine, you know, "see you on a trailer" etc, I laugh and agree. They still want one, I can tell ;-)

I think the article is very fair, and the knockers usually have never experienced one or are your keyboard warrior type or 12 years old (or both!).
Pistonheads have had a few 'brave pill' articles about other cars I've been tempted by, Maserati 4200GT and Porsche Cayenne S.
They started rising about 4 years ago in my experience. I bought a W reg 400 with 80k miles on it in 2013 for under £7k. Very good history though. Went for almost £11k when I sold it in 2017 still on original chassis and engine (86k miles). Got written off 3 months later..... Chap who bought it was in his 30s, likely used to traction control and ABS, as mentioned in the article. I saw the wreckage for sale at Silverlake breakers.

Yes I've had people come up to me and say wow what a car. Genuinely. Especially when I though they were coming to complain about the noise; quite the reverse!
Unlike the round finger and thumb motion signals in my Boxster S 5 yrs ago.
Shame people are like that.Unlike the round finger and thumb motion signals in my Boxster S 5 yrs ago.

When I had a 400 SE in my late 20's, driving through town at night, roof off, someone chased me down the road trying to throw a traffic cone in the car. I booted it, he fell over :-)
I also got spat at once.

This is my car which is currently for sale.
Most of the article is correct apart from the description of the interior which I think looks totally in keeping with the BRG exterior and that of a traditional British sports car.
Also, it doesn't have power steering.
But I do agree with his last sentence.

I've had my Chimaera since 2002.
In 17 years of ownership, its only once left me on the roadside. The timing cover gasket failed and it dumped its coolant on the road.
I've just lifted the body off this winter to do the outriggers and rejuvenate the running gear.
I'm hoping both me and it will last another 17 years.

Slightly off topic but looking at your ad, do you have a link for the LED stop/tail bulbs you fitted please?

These are the bulbs. The page doesn't appear so you'll have to search the Aliexpress site, they are still on there. Only about $4 per pair.

I'm not getting another TVR (maybe) and am looking around for another toy; leaning towards another bike at the mo.
