Not sure there is anywhere ‘nice’ within the circuit unless you’re in hospitality. It’s make the best of mass supply food at event prices. Having said that, the stuff on offer isn’t too bad.

We generally take in the supplies. Fresh sandwiches, snacks from a bakery each morning.

We usually then leave the circuit on Saturday for a freshen up and a proper dinner somewhere away from the circuit.

The worlds’ most expensive BSE burger, accompanied by greasy chips.
Wash it down with a watered down 9 Euro beer and then follow with your annual recommended sugar intake in the form of a cup of Churros.

Failing that, the best place to eat on track is probably the bins outside the Porsche corporate centre - although, given the weather last year, we found the salmon to be a touch piquant.

There was a great sausage, sandwich and chips stall - at Tertre Rouge in 2017.
No queues, fast festival-style service round the clock, hot food, drinks - and cheap at £6-8 for two Merguez and Chips (relatively - for the circuit).

So what happened in 2018? They replaced it.
Half a chicken and chips for £20, serving a LOT less people.

With no queues, it was still one of the better options - but the more races I go to - the more I wonder whether you can leave the circuit on the tram, grab some food, return, and still beat some of the queues around the circuit.

Had a nice pizza in the village last year, might have to go back there.

Best place to eat is always in the camp sites, buy a BBQ and act like a british camper, spend whatever you like, steak, burgers sausages or veggie option. Washed down with supermarket beer or wine and great company. Why pay over inflated prices for stuff. Morning's in every campsite with always have the smell of the full monty as the majority of people cook a full breakfast most days.

Exactlty this. We might buy some churros on the Saturday night, but otherwise it's bbq or grill at Casa Houx for us.

They've bumped the prices up so much in the last couple of years that last year we resorted to picking up a few extra baguettes on the morning boulangerie run and making our own sandwiches.

I've always enjoyed the food at the Tetre Rouge bar during the race. Basic and probably over-priced for what it is, but beer and big screens to keep watching the race action while you eat.

Other than that BBQ and a small gas stove's the way to go. Fresh meet for the first couple of means, then a frying pan and some cans of Confit (as it's not going to go off if it's a hot year).

The food at the circuit is basically awful: poor selection and just not very good; that said, for some reason we always seem to end up buying one of their limp sandwich mixte and a watery beer on the Friday - part of the tradition I suppose. As others have said, take your own sandwiches (&/or a salad from the supermarket) and if you are staying on site use a BBQ. Alternatively, head away from the circuit and find a nice restaurant.

So glad someone else mentioned what happened to this place.

Our Sunday morning ritual was their enormous and tasty sausage and chip filled 8 euro baguette. Always set you up for the day and didn't really need to eat again until BBQ back at camp after the race finished.

As stated, overpriced rubbish has replaced it (I think it's been two years now so seems a permanent change). I was shocked at the quality of the "official" replacement as well as the price.

Sounds like the village might be worth a try, but I won't be returning to the other trackside offerings.

Even small changes for the worse are noticeable, the food stand/bar at the back of the ACO stand used to make their own sandwiches out of fresh bread, last year they swapped to soggy pre-packed rolls.

I noticed that the English burger van on Porsche curves seemed to get the push last year in favour of some sort of ham sandwich stand...

There are a couple of "restaurants" in the village. What are they like? Is there better quality food in the ACO member areas?

You used to be able to get a great selection of different food and I liked the Tartiflete, di.dnt go last year but couldnt fin it the year before. I really begrudge paying so much for rubbish. I accept its going to be expensive buy you the least they could do is improve the quality

The last couple of years has seen an enormous escalation of price and reduction in quality of both food and beer. For the first time last year we cooked all our food on a bbq and only drank beer we brought with us, we camp in Garage Vert so you are already in the circuit.

Whether the basic increase in beer costs have been down to greed or trying to quell an increase in particularly drunk Brits I’m not sure but it has taken away a lot of the atmosphere.

If you want to buy decent food at a reasonable rate you have to leave the circuit and there are plenty of places not too far off, trouble is if you publish the secrets here they become overcrowded and ruined by marauding pxxs heads. I know many believe it is the right of passage but for many who have been attending this race for many years you all become a pain in the arxx whether you like it or not.

Yes that change is very disapointing. We always made a point of having food there on the Saturday as the sun went down. Won't be doing that in future.

Reminds me when my Sunday morning ritual used to be a Grand Marnier crep at about 6am on the way back from watching night racing. Good times.

My mates have had some decent food from the whole pig roast stand between the live music stage and the fair. Although you need to time it right as you get half as much when it's busy at the weekend but if it's very quiet and the pigs aren't turning I think you get the meat out of a tray rather than fresh off the spit.

Yes the food in the ACO area in stands 17/18 is better and cheaper than else where as is the beer but not by much to be honest. Always remember having to purchase a contrieux creppe every year as part of the tradition but not seen the stand now for many years.

Whatever you do, don't buy a slushie from the stall on the hill on the way to the village. I foolishly succumbed last year as it was so hot. It left my bottom shortly afterwards in the same consistancy as it entered, although slightly warmer laugh
