Change of job means a c.20k mile/year commute and my current shonky old E53 X5 3.0i isn’t going to cut the mustard. 17MPG and fear of it dying at any given moment don’t make for a stress free life.
A new-ish X5 diesel wasn’t going to be feasible and I’ve driven a F31 320d before and enjoyed it, so this happened
An absolutely definitely not an ex rental car* 2018 320d Touring with 11k on the clock. Sport with heated leather, heated steering wheel, privacy glass, reversing camera and front/rear PDC.
Hopefully picking it up next weekend.... I know you can’t wait to hear more!

I’m about 99% sure it will actually have been on a daily rental fleet - it’s not feasible for all of these cars to have been “staff cars”, there’s tons of them for sale in all shapes and sizes. LaurasOtherHalf said:

That does not seem weird at all to me. Seems correct way of doing things. I am usually putting something in the boot, or a coat on the back seat. So, after opening the car, the key goes into shirt or jacket pocket, enter, and then a keyless start.Pica-Pica said:

Even Laguna IIs with any kind of spec had keyless entry and start together (and a better system than BMW’s that locked automatically when you walk away, no need to press the button on the door)They’re a logical pairing surely, keyless start on its own seems a bit silly over just having somewhere to slot the “key” into, given anyone who hasn’t had keyless before will be used to getting into a car with a key in their hand.

Collected yesterday morning and immediately did a 170 mile round trip. Drives absolutely superbly. Very happy.
I think one of the tyre pressure sensors is faulty, keep getting a warning that the OSF tyre has dropped a little bit even though upon checking it’s fine

Couple of resets (and checking the pressures again) seems to have sorted it out for now, cheers!Also discovered it takes piss water (AdBlue) - computer reckons it has 4K miles worth left. Anyone know what the typical AdBlue range is on one of these?

About the only thing I can see that I think has merit is the journey planning thing - push destinations to the nav in advance. Details of last journey, fuel tank range remaining, flash lights remotely... can see how all of these might be useful.
I suppose being able to check the fuel level remotely is a nice to have (probably lots more useful in an electric car...)
