Entertainment a priority £30k

I'm looking for options for a replacement car for 30k.

Jag XF SV8 + Abarth 595 (wife's car)
I've had the XF for a coupe of years. It's a good car with a V8 and a decent amount of poke but I have a few issues.
1. I miss how special the GTV felt. Like a race car even sitting still.
2. It's big. Really big. I'm always worried about door dings in car parks and it's a bit big on country lanes
3. You are going really quite quickly when you get it on it's toes, it's a bit much for the road and doesn't do much for you at low speed
4. It's quite heavy.
The cars I've looked at so far are really a Cayman S and oddly an Abarth 124.
The Cayman looks good but will be a bit older and in worried it won't feel all that special (sorry Porsche fans) as it won't have the crazy zing of the Italian cars and may be too insulated and remote as it's designed to be refined.
The 124, I have a concern because of the 595. I LOVE the 595 it's hilarious, but the Jag is more dynamically sound. Even with it's weight. The steering in the 595 is like stirring melted rubber and the engine is not one that you want to pull to the redline really which might blunt the fun in a roadster with no weight.
It's there anything I've forgotten? Am I worrying too much about the Cayman and it's refinement? Am I a fool for considering a 124? Car buying is hard work!

I feel qualified to reply to this as I have had a GTV V6, Abarth 500, VXR8 (similar to your Jag in some respects) and currently in a 987 Boxster.
The Cayman S is nice, but you can get into some special stuff that will be more of an event, at 30k, if you're feeling brave:
