As the title says. Just going through the planner and the F1 is on Sky One live.

So no need to get the sports pass if you use now Tv this weekend.

The £10 a month deal has been a waste of money so far then.

I was shocked to see it was on Sky 1 in Oz too, still watched the highlights on 4 though..
Wondered why people were paying.

I’m guessing they kept it quiet when offering the £10 subscriptions to prevent lost sales.

Bit racked off at this I've paid for sky sports and f1 just for the f1 as at the time the deal was £18 for f1 and £2 extra for all the sky sports. Then the £10 f1 option comes out now 2 in a row on sky 1. Just make sky f1 free as part of the basic sky package if it is going to be on sky 1 all the time.

A lesson in why you don't give Sky your money I'm afraid. Probably won't be many/if any more shown on anything other than SPF1 channel though other than the last round I'd say.

The F1 broadcasting blog said it was on Sky 1 for the first 4 races I think

That's a hell of a kick in the teeth to anyone who paid up for the F1 channel at the start of the season. Pretty cheeky I'd say.

Hook marketing.
Show a few for free then pull it. Sky will gain some extra subscribers from it.

Despicable behaviour of the "shark" variety.

Usual Sky behaviour I'm afraid. Won't touch them after their failed first attempt at running a dedicated F1 channel that they pulled without refunds.

Doesn't the Sky F1 £10 pm offer end on 1st April?

So you sign up by 1st April to get F1 on Sports and yet the following 2 races are on Sky One.

Ah, you mean F1 Digital, which was a channel run by Formula One Management, not Sky.

Bernie and FOM pulled the plug on it in 2002 affecting ALL of the countries that received it. Sky didn't pull it - they didn't have any say in the matter, and couldn't broadcast a feed which no longer existed.

I know it will mean reading every word of the Ts&Cs but if Sky have charged a premium for exclusivity, they might have to give the money back,Surely If they have implied anywhere in the advertising or promotions that it is exclusive they would be in breach.

Do they show football on Sky1?

So? There was nothing stopping Sky refunding people for it. Presumably they didn't have to carry on paying for the service themselves so why charge customers who had paid for the season.

I don't think it is going to be on Sky One all the time. Just the first few races. Presumably to try get people hooked in.

I am quite happy because I jumped on a deal they emailed me whereby I got 2 months of the Entertainment package (via NowTV) for £1 a month!

You don't pay for exclusivity. You pay for access to the channel(s) you pay for - and you can see the schedules before you pay, so you know what you're paying for. So long as Sky make a reasonable effort to ensure those channels maintain the programming you paid, then their remit is complete.

The fact that they may also share some of the same content in a lower pay tier is just fairly standard marketing. And in any case, the pre-season deal was discounted, so if they were criticised they can point to that too.

If they had said "F1 - exclusively available on the Sky Sports F1 Channel" you would have a complaint worth pursuing. Worth baring in mind that any network that doesn't choose to market it's services as an "exclusive" that way, is almost certainly planning similar tactics to hook new subscribers and pull them through the paywall.
