I have a 2009 Chevrolet cruze, door is being replaced completely, I have a new door, with everything on it, window, lock, wing mirror etc all ready to go

My question is when swapping over the door will I need to swap the door lock cylinder from the old door to the new one or will the lock in the new door work?

The lock on the replacement door will work in answer to your question.............. Just not with your key.

Do you mean, it will work with key fob to unlock just not if I insert the key?

Correct, the "plipper" works by using the car's electronics to open the door, the physical door lock obviously is a different matter.

Great good to know, not sure I’ve ever used the actual key for the lock anyway
