How much do you spend on your mum on mother’s day?

I’ve spent £30 or so plus a card over the past few years, having not lived at home and seem my mum relatively less.

Younger brothers spend close to £100, perfume, flowers for example however they still live at home so have no other commitments.

Am I a cheapskate? What’s the norm?

Send a card, am sure Mum is happy with that, and that I remembered it was Mothers Day..

Depends really. Could easily go out for a meal. Or purchase theatre tickets etc.

My mum hates the thought of going out on Mothers Day and being paraded out just for the sake of what day it is. Card and a small present more than suffice, don't think I've ever spent more than £30 and that feels like an expensive day for something marketed by card companies to keep business up during what would otherwise be a quiet period.

Double whammy for us this year, parents ruby anniversary on the 30th and then mother’s days the 31st

We normally spend about £30-40 on each of our mums for mother’s day. £100 feels excessive and unnecessary tbh.

Flowers and a card is probably £30 delivered. That seems about right.

I will take her out for a day of shopping with a nice lunch, but I do that anyway.

I shall place a nice bouquet on her grave.

It's only 200 miles away. Love you Mum.

Card (99p in Lidl), hardly hear from her from one month to the next, thought she'd be more interested in what her grand children are doing but I guess not.

Might treat the wife a bit on behalf of the kids, usual sh*t, flowers, chocs, Prosecco etc. Probably cook a roast on Sunday.

I don't know why we even bother with them. What have these mothers ever done for us?

Very true - My mum passed away on the 12th October last year 72 years old. I miss her every day.

Card, flowers, and cake... Plus I've got an enormous Brisket in which I'll spend all day smoking for dinner.

Hey that is the car that I've got my mum too.

She is round for dinner on Sunday (she's a Vegan so it's always a bit of a chore trying to work out what to cook!) and I'll spend a tenner on a few bits for her, she's not into big spending and wouldn't really appreciate me spending loads.
